About the event

Whats the difference between a garden and a forest? Why don't forests need gardeners or landscapers?

Is something calling you to participate in our upcoming Permaculture design workshop?

If you’re asking the following questions it is highly likely;

  • What are the essential skills required to be successful with sustainability?
  • How does Permaculture work in practise?
  • How do I dialogue with soil? What questions should I be asking? What are the available options that help me assist drive towards and maintain healthy soil?
  • How do I convert animal and garden waste into fertile soil?
  • How do I appropriately manage water resources and waste water?
  • How does participating in specific workshops fundamentally reflect overall permaculture design principles? I.e. will this give me a broader understanding so I can apply these principles in a different context…
  • These last few months we have had an over abundance of the element of water. What implications does this have in overall design? Catching, storing and draining excess water.

Let’s hear your questions too. This will be a fun collaborative experience. You’ll leave with confidence to amp up and immerse yourself into designing sustainable elements into your life.

Let’s roll our sleeves up. The learning is in the doing.

People that come to my workshop leave with way more than an understanding of Permaculture.  This content is completely suitable for children and well seasoned and experienced Permaculture advocates alike. We are creating an experience. We are also creating the change we want to encourage in ourselves and the world.  Learn to create simple systems that directly utilise and harmonise with the carbon and water cycles.  Learn the art of designing completely natural ecologies.

About David

David Holberton, Earth whisperer, ecological system designer, hydrologist, earthworks machinery operator are a few things he is known for. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience about Permaculture; designing sustainable ecological systems, that serve numerous functions such as; providing an abundant source of food and clean water, preserving and establishing niches for native flora and fauna, processing waste products back into nutrient rich soils, natural building, and bringing community together.

After completing his Permaculture Design Certificate in 2014, David began working in the construction industry as an Earthworks operator. "Instinctually, I've stayed away, and felt suspicious of institutionalised education. I've instead treated life as my university."

Being able to master construction machinery was necessary to make fundamental changes in the landscape that eventually become the skeletal structure in the body of sustainable systems.

David has spent time in both the urban and rural landscapes, bringing together a synthesis of strategies that work in both areas addressing the core fundamental concepts of sustainability.

The nature of the human spirit is particularly relevant and part of David's focus will illuminate the sometimes challenging aspects of dealing with our inner landscape, and what implications this has in dealing with our current world, and overcoming self limiting beliefs.  "Dadirri" - Deep listening, brings awareness.

At the present moments, we are being called back into service, into community and truth.  All paradigms that don't serve, prove dysfunctional and obsolete. Of the many reasons you are here reading this, perhaps deep down you already know, the missing link, and the one you are looking for, is you!

Nothing is more empowering than discovering your divine purpose, and realising through your actions, that benefit will be known in life yet to come.

At the heart of all ecological systems, is balance and harmony with respect to all great cycles, particularly the carbon and water cycle. Water is life!
