Workshop 1 - Kids Garden Science with Jana
🌱SEEDs, 🌻PLANTs and 🪱WORMs
This is a great starter workshop to teach kids about plants and seeds to set them on a pathway to growing their own vegetables and become a Little Farmer.
Kids will have great fun and learn so much garden science. There are a variety of skills to be learned and natural play is always engaging.
Kids will learn:
1. How to Dissect a bean seed and record their findings on a record sheet to take home.
2. Learn how to start a Garden in a Glove and record each seeds sprouting progress and how many days it takes for a seed to grow its full cycle.
3. Make an indoor Root Vegetable Garden from recycled materials.
4. Kids will learn all about worms and composting.
Light lunch and juice is provided.
Kindly Bring a water bottle, Wellington boots, garden gloves, sun hat and sun screen and smiles on little faces.

Workshop - Harvest Festival
How to harvest and forage for food, store them, collect eggs and cook an omelette with natural produce harvested from The Little Farmers hands.

Location: 8 Rich Pl Dardinup West, Western Australia.
Dates: There are two holiday workshops available
Thursday 19th Jan 10am - 2pm and
Friday 27th Jan 10am - 2pm
Spaces are limited to 10 children per workshop
1 Parent/carer per child are welcome to stay and participate
Cost: $49 pp Kids ages 6 and over can attend without adult accompliment. Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.

About Jana
Jana Holmer is a multigenerational land owner. After having a Television spot as host for a popular gardening show, Jana retired to become the editor of two garden magazines. She currently writes a gardening column and has been host to the Myself Reliance event Basic Bush Survival Skills with Jarod Santana. Jana has a young daughter who is also a skilled writer and passionate about gardening.
